Ubudehe related information now accessed via mobile phone

Rwandan citizens can now access Ubudehe related information on their mobile telephone. By Ubudehe categories, reference is made to the classification of Rwandan households according their economic life standing.  Information from Mr. SIBOMANA Saidi, the Division Manager of Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation at Local Administrative Entities Development Agency (LODA) says that, in collaboration with National Identification Agency (NIDA), Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) and Rwanda Online Platform Ltd, an interconnected IT system has been put in place to improve Government to Citizens Services like Mituelle de Santé, VUP, Girinka, and other services using Ubudehe categories. The system currently in trial phase can be accessed by pressing *909# and follow instructions. By accessing Ubudehe related information (Category, household members …) through mobile telephones, citizens can easily pay health insurance fee for example and seek other services using Ubudehe categories like students’ scholarships. In case of mismatch between availed information and reality on ground, citizens can have recourse to Cell Administration for help. This Ubudehe IT platform is part of LODA’s wide system known as “MEIS” (Monitoring & Evaluation Information System) which facilitates the coordination of LED and social protection planning, household profiling, M&E of projects from grassroots to national level.  It was developed in line with the GoR’s determination to continue multiplying efforts to adapt to the world’s IT speedy trends in a bid to improve service delivery and thus transforming Rwandans’ socio-economic lives. The platform is expected to be officially launched in coming January 2018.
